Despicable Me Cookies

Minions! Minions! Minions!

I have yet to see the "Despicable Me" movie, but just making these cookies of the minion characters from it, certainly make me want to. :) They were so much fun to do!!!!! Because they are all just a little different the possibilities are endless.  

Thanks to my nephew for asking me to try making them in the first place!  They have been a huge hit!

Halloween Cookies

Happy Halloween!

I had a really fun order from a Grandmother who wanted cookies for each of her grandchildren that replicated what they were dressing as for Halloween. Each small bouquet had a happy pumpkin :) and 2 robots, ladybugs, Dora the Explorers, Penguins, Footballs, etc.  What a great Grandma!  I hope that they all enjoyed them!

A Cars 3rd Birthday!

I had the opportunity recently to make my first attempt at Cars cookies for a little boys birthday party.  The actual Cars cookie cutters that they make aren't all that impressive, so I decided to try just freehanding the characters on very basic shapes.  I think that George enjoyed them!

Valentine's Day Cookies

Happy Valentine's Day!

These are some of the cookies that I am making for Valentine's Day this year.  I just started trying some lacework with my royal icing and I really liked the way it turned out.  It takes quite a bit longer but the detail is pretty awesome when they are finished. My son says that his favorite are the "girly ones". Me too!

Christmas Cookies

Merry Christmas!

I have been keeping very very busy with Christmas cookies this year!  They are my favorite cookies to make as I remember making them at home with my mother and siblings when I was young.  It was an important family tradition at Christmas in our family kitchen and we always used my Grandmother's recipe. This year I tried a few new cookie cutters to add to my Christmas collection.  Cardinals, (they were one of my Grandmother's favorites) ornaments,  (I wish that I had taken pictures of those!) and mittens -my new favorite!

Autumn Cookies

It's Fall!!!!

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. I especially love all the beautiful leaves changing colors and going to the pumpkin patch with my children.  These cookies are inspired by that awesome season! Enjoy!

Baby Cookies

We recently found out that we are expecting and are absolutely thrilled!  Since I am usually looking for cookie ideas and am now thinking about babies all the time, it only seemed fitting to make some baby cookies!  The hearts in the middle of the "baby  boy" and "baby girl" cookies are cut outs and I thought that these sailboats were a good addition to the boy cookies.  The baby girl cookies could be cute with flowers and for a baby shower you could do a gender neutral "baby" cookie if you want.  So fun!  I'm sure that there will be many more baby cookies coming out of this kitchen in the coming months!
